Homeschool Social: History and Uses of Wool

This presentation by the New Britain Youth Museum at Hungerford Park discusses the different animals that have wool, the uses of wool throughout history, and provides a hands-on demonstration of spinning wool using a drop spindle.

Cuentacuentos/ Bilingual Storyhour

El programa Cuentacuentos es para niños y sus familias. Escuchamos a cuentos en inglés y en español, jugamos, cantamos, hacemos proyectos de arte (manualidades), y hacemos nuevos amigos. Después del programa habrá refrescos y pan dulce.

Cuentacuentos is a program for children and families. We listen to stories in English and Spanish, play games, sing songs, work on crafts, and meet new friends as we enjoy refreshments and delicious pan dulce (pastries and sweets)

Minecraft Meetup

Are you into Minecraft? Want to meet up with other Minecraft players? Come to our Minecraft Meetup on Thursday, June 30th from 4 to 5 pm in the Griffin Room. Come play with others in person or virtually on our LION Libraries server. We will have a few laptops available or you can bring your own laptop or device. Be sure to bring your account login information to sign into Minecraft. Open to ages 5-17. Sign up not required unless you want to reserve a computer. Sign up for a computer here.
