Library Holiday Hours

The library will close early at 3pm on Tuesday, December 24th.

The library will be closed Wednesday, December 25th in observance of Christmas Day. 

The library will reopen on Thursday, December 26th at 9:30am.

How to participate

  1. Starting Saturday, January 4th, sign-up ONLINE or in person by visiting our Information Desk where you will receive a packet with list of challenges, detailing how to earn raffle tickets to be entered to win one of our themed gift basket prizes.
  2. Anytime during the January 4th - February 28th timeframe, complete the challenges and fill out the forms online or bring your Winter Reading Challenge packet to the Information Desk to receive a raffle ticket for each completed challenge. Raffle entries will be accepted until February 28th. 
  3. Join us on Saturday, March 1st where we will enjoy light refreshments, fun activities, and announce the lucky winners! Reading challenge participants do not need to be in attendance in order to participate in prize drawing. Registration is required. 

Online Submissions

  1. Read five books and complete one challenge for each book = 1 raffle ticket per challenge 
  2. Complete One Book Bingo (the 5 books used for this challenge can also be used for other challenges) = 1 raffle ticket
  3. Complete one Scavenger Hunt = 1 raffle ticket
  4. Complete the Word Search = 1 raffle ticket
  5. Register and attend of the Meriden Public Library Programs listed below= 1 raffle ticket
  6. Fill out the Winter Reading Survey = 1 raffle ticket

In-Person Submissions

To participate in-person, please visit the Information Desk to register, submit forms, and receive raffle tickets upon completion of challenges.
