All Meriden residents are eligible to apply for a free Meriden Public Library card.

Sign Up for a New Card:
Step 1: Gather necessary items:
Adults:
- Require one form of photo identification such as a driver’s license, CT non-driver ID, or passport listing Meriden residence;
- Or a photo ID and one of the following: Meriden utility or tax bill; any mail item delivered to Meriden home address; mortgage or lease agreement; or CT motor vehicle registration. A Meriden post office box is not valid proof of residency.
Children:
- Children under the age of 18 require a parent or legal guardian present (with valid ID) and one form of identification showing name such as social security card, birth certificate, or medical card; OR one of the following: student report card, school schedule, or school ID. Exceptions are made for teens aged 12-17 in which PowerSchool showing enrollment at a Meriden School may serve as proof of Meriden residency.
Step 2: Bring the necessary items to the Visitor Services desk and a library staff will create your new card.
