In 1933, under President’s Roosevelt’s “New Deal”, the Civilian Conservation Corps was formed to relieve the poverty and unemployment of the Depression. Many of these camps were set up in Connecticut. Learn the history of Camp Roosevelt which was located at what is now Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth.
