Join Connecticut’s Lisa Hall Brownell, whose new historical novel Gallows Road (2022, Elm Grove Press) sheds light on a little-known chapter in our region’s history. Combining fact and fiction, the book was inspired by events in colonial New London. The plot of Gallows Road centers on the life of an indentured servant, a young woman who was condemned to death by public hanging in 1753 for a crime that she swore she didn’t commit.
