Through Wendy Kerner's harp, experience the magic of heartfelt ballads, lively dance tunes, the timeless airs of O'Carolan, and contemporary Irish songs that will transport you to another time and place. The artistry of harpist WENDY KERNER, has been described by The New York Times as “first rate” and other critics have hailed her playing as “seductive” and “a delight to listen to”. Ms. Kerner has toured extensively throughout the United States and this past season she had the pleasure of performing with the Three Irish Tenors in concert. She has also played for the Prime Minister of Ireland, the Archbishop of New York, and other dignitaries, and has performed at the John F Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston. Ms. Kerner is the principal harpist with The Norwalk and Ridgefield Symphonies in Connecticut, and she is also a winner of the American Harp Society’s Concert Artist Program and was presented in her New York Debut in Carnegie Recital Hall as a winner of the Artists International Chamber Music Competition. She has been heard on Voice of America, WQXR, the Adrian Flannely Radio Program, Public Radio International, and the TV Program “Irish Eyes.” Ms. Kerner began studying the harp at the age of seven. She was a scholarship student at The Juilliard School where she received her Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees. Ms. Kerner teaches harp at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT and maintains an active private studio in Wilton, CT, and she directs the Elyrica Summer Harp Ensemble Program for harp students of all ages in Ridgefield, CT.
